City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia

Hello guys,
Let's go to the beach!
Valencia is integrated into an industrial area on the Costa del Azahar. Its main festival, the Falles, is known worldwide, while the traditional dish, paella, originated around Valencia.

The city contains a dense monumental heritage, the most popular is the City of Arts and Sciences, an avant-garde and futuristic museum complex.

City of Arts and Sciences

The City of Arts and Sciences is an entertainment-based cultural and architectural complex in the city of Valencia. It is the most important modern tourist destination in the city of Valencia. Is situated at the end of the old riverbed Turia. If you visit Valencia i'll recomend you go to this stunning place, is very beautiful.
Designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, the complex is made up of the following buildings, In order of their inauguration: L'Hemisfèric, Science Museum Prince Felipe, L'Umbracle,  L'Oceanogràfic, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, El Puente de l'Assut de l'Or , L'Àgora, The Valencia Towers.

Description of the museums:
  • The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia: Is a flamboyant opera and music palace with four halls and a total area of 37,000 m2. It was inaugurated in 2005 and is equipped with the most modern technologies to constitute an avant-garde and modern space, which is the cultural catalyst that has placed the Region of Valencia, with its centenary musical tradition, in a privileged position among all other world regions.

  • L'Oceanogràfic: The biggest aquarium in Europe, with a variety of ocean beings from different environments: from the Mediterranean, fishes from the ocean and reef inhabitants, sharks, mackerel swarms, dolphinarium, inhabitants of the polar regions (belugas, walruses, penguins), coast inhabitants (sea lions), etc. L'Oceanogràfic exhibits also smaller animals as coral, jellyfish, sea anemones, etc.

  • Science Museum Prince Felipe: If you have kids, this place can be interesting, a science museum for getting to know in a didactic, interactive, and entertaining way everything to do with life, science, and technology. The building resembling the skeleton of a whale. It occupies around 40,000 m2 (430,556.42 sq ft) on three flats.

  • The Hemispheric:  was inaugurated in 1998 and was the first building in the City of Arts and Sciences to open its doors to the public. It is a spectacular construction designed by Santiago Calatrava, with an ovoid roof over 100 metres long that contains in its interior the large sphere that constitutes the projection room. The Hemisfèric is a IMAX 3D-cinema, planetarium and laserium.  This is the largest hall in Spain to contain three systems projecting onto a concave screen of 900 square metres:
                        Large-format cinema, IMAX Dome.
                        Digital 3D screen measures: rectangleabout12x6meters.
Digital projections. Astronomical representations and entertainment shows.
Other places in the enclosure to note are the Umbracle, a spectacular gardened esplanade and exhibition zone with incredible views to the whole complex, which houses a large car park.
