Are you looking for a nice place for your holidays in Spain? ^0^

Nerja is a well known tourist town on the Costa del Sol that can be found 50km to the east of Malaga.
Famous for its spectacular caves, Nerja is one of the most natural and unspoilt resorts in Andalucia, and as i said is just over an hour if you drive from Malaga.

This is the perfect holiday resort for visitors who like to combine the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside with a vibrant town centre and some of the best restaurants on the Costa del Sol.

In this beautiful and lovely city you can discover a stunning roman aqueduct built in the 19th century and the Balcón de Europa, a mirador or viewpoint which gives stunning views across the sea, is in the centre of the old town. Its name is popularly believed to have been coined by King Alfonso XII, who visited the area in 1885 following a disastrous earthquake and was captivated by the scene.

Also you can visit the amazing Nerja Cave discovered in 1959, a magic place with many primitive paintings. The Caves are located just three kilometres from the town centre, one of the enormous natural caverns has been transformed into a concert hall, where many performances are staged during the summer.

Nerja has been a source of inspiration for expatriate writers and artists, such as French born Author Andre Launay. Jorge Guillen and Federico Garcia Lorca were longtime visitors and residents of the town. The city also is well known among spaniards because in the 80's was the background of the popular drama Verano Azul 'summer blue' A touching story about the relation between a group of teenagers that spend their holidays in Nerja.
